Police recovered 10 hand bombs from a bush at Dhulla-Battala under Muktaghacha upazila on Monday morning.

Police said acting on secret information they conducted a drive in the area at around 6 am and recovered the bombs wrapped with scotch tapes. None was arrested in this connection.

bdnews24.com from Chapainawabganj adds: The Rapid Action Battalion arrested two men from the Dhobrha area of Chapainawabganj with around 1,000 bottles of illegal Phensedyl cough syrup on Monday.

Thirty-five-year-old Taijul Islam and 32-year-old Sadeque Hossain, both from Dhobrha village, were arrested for possession of the illegal Indian manufactured drug.

“RAB personnel intercepted a white car and a motorcycle in Dhobrha on the Chapainawabganj-Sona Masjid highway at around four in the morning,” Rezaul Islam, RAB deputy-director, told bdnews24.com.

Islam said they discovered the cough syrup bottles following a search of the two vehicles.

RAB officers handed the two men and the Phensedyl over to the Shibganj police along with the seized vehicles, said Islam.
