Dhaka University: Where will it be in 2021?
When it was time to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of Dhaka University on July 1, 2011, it was clear there wasn’t much to celebrate after all other than cake-cutting, colorful parade, a drama, sports competition, a discussion at TSC, and release of nine pigeons. Dhaka University, my alma mater, was placed between 550th and 600th in the Quacquarelli Symonds rankings in 2010. Worse still, the university’s status seems to be on a sustained decline; it was 365th in the QS rankings in 2005. According to 2011 Webometrics ranking of universities, the Oxford of the East is ranked 3627th amongst universities with BUET ranked at 2108th.

Samsung says in last-stage talks to launch Google TV
SEOUL, Nov 22 (bdnews24.com/Reuters)— Samsung Electronics, the world’s top TV maker, is in last-stage talks with Google to roll out its Google TVs, the head of Samsung’s TV division has told reporters.
Google TV — which currently comes built-in on certain Sony Corp television models and on Logitech International set-top boxes — allows consumers to access online videos and websites on their TVs, as well as specialized apps such as video games.
Samsung in January displayed a new Google TV-enabled Blu-ray player and companion box at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), but did not commercialize the offerings.

Will you go for the new iPhone?
I have an iPhone 3GS, simply love it and bought it a year and a half back. Soon after that Apple released the iPhone 4, but I didn’t upgrade simply because it was a slight improved version of its predecessor and thought would go for the next one.
So, there I was, eagerly waiting for the new version to come out. Like me many others were doing the same, and October 4 was that day, the day Apple announced that they would be launching a new iPhone at an event called ‘Let’s talk iPhone’. Everyone was expecting to see a new phone that they would buy and their expectation was natural.
