BNP sticks to caretakers-first gun
Dhaka, Jan 11 (bdnews24.com)—BNP told president Zillur Rahman on Wednesday that it will not accept formation of new Election Commission before the caretaker government provision is reinstated.
Its spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir briefed the media at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters about the details of the hour-long talks with president Zillur Rahman earlier in the day.
“We’ve told the president that formation of the Election Commission before a decision on revival of caretaker government system is not acceptable,” acting secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul said in the briefing.
